PUBLISH, in collaboration with TokenPost, is pleased to announce the issuance of a new NFT (non-fungible token) to commemorate "Population Day."

Recognized annually on July 11, Population Day seeks to increase public understanding and interest in the political, economic, and social impacts caused by population imbalances. It also aims to encourage private sector participation in response to challenges such as low birth rates and an aging society.

Until the 1990s, South Korea promoted population control policies under slogans such as "Having too many children will lead to poverty", "No need to differentiate between a son and a daughter, just have two and raise them well", and "A well-raised daughter is worth ten sons". However, due to such policies, increased women's participation in society, and increased social costs of childbirth and education, the birth rate has fallen dramatically. As a result, the 65-and-over age group now accounts for more than 18% of the total population.

Korea's Population Day coincides with "World population Day". World population day, which was first established in 1989 by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme, was inspired by "Five Billion Day" on July 11, 1987, the approximate date on which the world's population reached five billion people. The current global population has surpassed 8 billion.

Perhaps ironically, while World Population Day warns of the dangers of overpopulation, South Korea's Population Day seeks to address the issue of popoulation imbalance resulting from record low birth rates and a rapidly aging society.

The "Good Day NFT Campaign" is a joint initiative by PUBLISH and TokenPost, aimed at highlighting significant domestic and international events and holidays through the issuance and distribution of commemorative NFTs and digital artwork.
